A local-first writing environment

A quiet place for stories to grow.

Cabin begins with a blank page and grows only when your story needs more.

Currently in product design.

Begin with only the page.

The writing surface is quiet first. No chrome, no ceremony, no structure before it has earned a place.

Part I The Ash Valley The Lantern Road Under the North Gate

Chapter One

The first morning arrived quietly.

The mountain kept its secrets beneath a white fold of weather. Elian waited by the cold stove, listening for the bell that only rang when someone crossed the old bridge.

When it came, the sound was small and silver. Not a warning. Not yet.

Why Cabin exists

Most writing software asks you to manage the tool before you can hear the sentence.

Cabin is built against that interruption. Structure is useful. Ownership matters. Assistance can help. But the writing must stay in the center of the room.

Manuscript

Writing comes first.

The manuscript remains central. Everything else is furniture around the work.

Structure

Complexity is invited, never imposed.

Panels arrive slowly, only when the story asks for structure.

Ownership

Your work stays yours.

Local folders, readable files and open exports keep ownership visible.

Quiet

Calm before clever.

Cabin should feel like a room prepared for thought, not a machine demanding management.

Editor

AI may question the work. It does not author it.

It can notice grammar, pacing and continuity. The voice stays human.

The project today

Cabin is currently in product design.

Its workflows, file model and interface are being defined before development begins.

The software should disappear, leaving only the story.
